Church Women United (a non-profit, Christian organization) provides free good, used clothing for needy residents of Napa County at the CWU Clothing Center. Those who need assistance on a regular basis are referred by Napa County Health & Human Services, other social service agencies, schools, or churches. Clients need a referral or need to show their Medi-Cal card. Clients are permitted to fill 1-3 grocery bags with clothing for themselves and/or their families once every three months. The service can also be used on a one-time emergency basis (fire, flood, etc.). Funding for operating the CWU Clothing Center is by donation (no government funds) from churches, organizations, and individuals.
Clients must have a Medi-Cal card or bring a referral to the CWU Clothing Center from Health & Human Services, a social service agency, school, or a church.
